Character
Name: Ginny Weasley
Series: Harry Potter
Timeline: Post Battle of Hogwarts
Canon Resource Links: Wiki
Personality: Growing up in a family with six older brothers, meant that she wants to be able to do things herself without having to rely on other people. She wants to do things herself, be known for who she is instead of being the Weasley girl etc. It helps that she has the determination to do just that.
Ginny isn't at all afraid to stand up for herself, being the youngest of seven taught her how to do it well - if she didn't do it then her brothers would have walked all over her. Instead, she learned to stand up for herself and what she believed in and isn't at all afraid to make it known to other people.
Since she was young, Ginny has learned to make people underestimate her as well as think that she wasn't up to as much as she was. She managed to keep a secret about her sneaking out to learn to fly on Charlie's broom, to telling her mother that it wasn't her that did whatever it was but Crookshanks despite the evidence that she was the one to do it.
Ginny is a trope. She has red hair and she has a temper that she can lose it at the drop of a hat - she won't stop to hex, swear and take it out on whoever annoys her and gets on the wrong end of it. That isn't to say she will stay mad at them for long - far from it but when she does lose it you don't want to be the person that it is aimed at.
Besides her temper, Ginny is incredibly stubborn and hates to back down from something or admit that whatever she is doing is wrong. She will do whatever she wants no matter what and will only ask for help if absolutely necessary. In fact, Ginny can quite often be a force to reckon with when it comes down to it.
While some people might feel some emotions strongly, Ginny feels all of them to the extreme. When she is happy she is incredibly happy, sad incredibly sad, jealous extremely jealous and has a temper that she can lose at the drop of a hat. Of course, these emotions can change very quickly depending on what is happening around her and you have to be careful - her pregnancy hormones were horrible! That isn't to say that Ginny isn't generally a happy-go-lucky person, she is in many ways but she doesn't have the best control over her emotions, especially after the past couple of years and the War that she actively participated in but her emotions are still there and loud.
Ginny is also incredibly loyal to those she considers friends and therefore family. She adopts the majority of friends into her family, much as many other members of her family do. In that regard, she is very like her mother. The bigger the family the better in many ways (though she refuses to have anywhere near as many biological children as her parents had though it was good in many ways having so many siblings it was just too much. She will defend her friends/family to the last breathe and won't hesitate to jump up in their defence. If they can't rely on her to defend them, then she's a pretty crappy friend in her opinion.
The past few months, despite her usually more bubbly personality, Ginny has been depressed and angry more often than not. While she is happy they won the war, she's angry and sad about the amount of people who died on their side, especially Fred who she is devastated about. She wants to make people pay but doesn't know how. She's happy the Death Eaters are going to jail but.... She wants more, she wants the Pureblood Supremacy completely wiped out and the wizarind world over hauled to become a lot more accepting. The Nightmares don't help either. If she was in the Muggle World she probably would be diagnosed with PTSD but that's unfortunately not a thing in the magical world. Being a child soldier (willingly she insists), being tortured and forced to torture other children and everything that she went through during her sixth year has left her bitter and angry and more prone to loosing her temper than she was before.
